Lochmühle Amusement Park has been an extraordinary and popular attraction in the Rhine-Main area for over 35 years.
Grown to a size of 15 hectars, the park nowadays attracts visitors from all over Germany, but still offers quiet sanctuaries even on busy days.
A s a former corn mill and farm the "Lochmühle" chooses to distinguish itself from larger, highly mechanized parks. Instead of having a few big rides with long waiting lines, the park relies on a broad variety in a countryside setting.
Guests can choose from about 150 playing and exercising items, romp along a river´s natural course or on meadows, play with indigenous animals in the petting zoo and even watch baby chicks hatch with a bit of luck. Their offer is rounded off by the possibility to picnic and barbecue in groups of all sizes.
Experiencing nature and animals, playing and fooling around, being able to spend time with the family and doing things together: This exciting mix and the possibility of self-development make up a combination appreciated by school classes, kindergartens, and families.
In 2008 it is open from March 21st to October 19th. Opening hours are daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., admission is until 4:30 p.m..
Guest up to 90 cm in height have free admission, all others typically pay 11 Euros per person, which includes free access to all the rides and attractions.

•Driving directions to Lochmuehle. You basically go onto A5, take the exit 16 Friedberg/Friedrichsdorf, follow the directions to Friedrichsdorf, then go towards Usingen/Wehrheim

Are you hungry afterwards?
We recommend driving to the nearby Usingen, a small town close-by. Usingen has a charming down-town. You’ll recognize a church like building (Hugenottenkirche) when you follow main street. There is quite some history around that one. Nowadays it houses the Usingen library. On the upper floors are found many places where concerts and gatherings can be accommodated. The wedding room is a favorite place for couples to plight their troth.
Find a parking spot around this area. From here you can conveniently walk around. For dinner we recommend a small Italian place called “Pizzeria Romantico”. They have excellent food. It is located to the right of the church building. In summer you can sit outside, just overlooking the old marketplace. Afterwards stroll along main street. There is a good ice cafe nearby with delicious ice cream.

We recommend staying at our Live Like a German vacation apartments in Wetzlar (distance is 52 km / 32 miles) or Waldgirmes (distance is 54 km / 34 miles.) From there Wehrheim is less than half an hour driving distance.
