Kalvarienberg


On your way to Schloss Hohenburg, check out the Kalvarienberg (built in 1694), exhibits a great collection of votive tablets.

Alter Kalkofen (old chalk oven)

An original from the times where the chalk rich stones occurring in the Isar river were burned to valuable chalk. This was an important branch of trade of the native population at the end of the 15. century until the  19. century. On fins the burned chalk was shipped to Munich and to Budapest. Chalk was the raw material for numerous stucco works in churches and monasteries. The old chalk oven can be visited at the “Kalkofenweg”, located at the western Isar bank, from April to Octobers, with several info boards.

Chapel St. Jakob


Powerful baroque church of Italian style.  Hall building with strong light cover, lantern tower. Built in 1721/22 by the count of Herwarth.
