This restaurant and offers fine German and Bavarian cuisine and praises itself for its high quality gourmet menus, such as Kaese Fondue (cheese fondue) with real delicious mountain cheese that tastes unlike any other cheeses you have tried before, varieties of fish, Knoedel (dumplings), and various meat dishes.
Adjacent to the restaurant is "Micha's Pilsbar" where you can mingle with locals and other tourists while enjoying a cool Pilsner or other beer amidst the rustic and cozy environment. This is definitely a place to visit when in Oberstdorf. After visiting the brewery and getting some insider stories on how to make Dampfbier, relax at the Jaegerstube or Kuechenstube and try the delicious beers that you just learned about - from light Dampfbier to dark Dampfbier, Hefeweizen to Pilsner - only to mention a few! The restaurants motto is: " Beer with Food and Food with Beer"!
Both restaurants offer mouth watering dishes from the Allgaeu to the Bavarian cuisine in a brewery setting where you can check out the brewing process while enjoying food and beer. For those that enjoy lighter meals, this is a great place to be since they have light dishes as well. Overall a great variety of foods and beers. The famous and traditional restaurant "Zur Alten Sennküche" in Oberstdorf got its name from the original use of the building. A long time ago it was a place to produce cheese.
The quaint charm of the house has been preserved until today and now their guests enjoy Allgäuer specialties and delicacies. True to the origins of the house obviously with a hearty cheese.
