The “Hallenbad Europabad” has a large, indoor, olympic-size heated swimming pool where you can do some laps to stay in shape. They also have a nice lawn and sunbathing area outside as well as a recreation area which is available in summer. In addition, they have a public sauna and a steam room that are open in the afternoons.

Your kids can earn a swimming certificate there! The first one is called “Seepferdchen” (sea-horse) and requires that your child passes a basic swimming test: 50 meters swimming, jumping into the water, and diving to pick up an object. There are also more advanced swimming tests (e.g., “Freischwimmer”) available. Testing is inexpensive and can be done without an appointment. Just ask the lifeguard in charge. When your kids pass the test, they will get a little sticker and certificate. Nice souvenir!
