Kitchen:

Kitchen with comfortable dining area and the usual amenities and tools: sink, crockery, pots, etc.

Bedroom:

One bed and a very comfortable sleeper sofa, spacious wardrobe and two dressers.

Living room:

Large cupboard with glass doors, an old hand-made piece, offers lot of space. Table and chairs as needed. A sofa that can, if needed, be used as a third bed.

Corridor:

Cozy reading corner with well-stocked ‘library’ bookcase.

Beautifully located on edge of town without neighbors across the road, with a view all the way to the Taunus. Close by BAB 45, exit 38 (towards Nieder-Mockstadt).

Frankfurt/Ost:

BAB 45>>66 ends directly at Frankfurt (Frankfurt vacation rentals | Frankfurt travel guide) Enkheim (~40 km) where you have a large shopping center and a Park+Ride facility with connection to U7 going from Zoo to center to main train station (Hauptbahnhof) to Frankfurt Fair (Messe), or from Friedberg (Friedberg vacation rentals | Friedberg travel guide) (B 275, ~16 km) to U6: Frankfurt Fair (Messe) - main train station (Hauptbahnhof) – Center (Zentrum) – Zoo.

Bad Nauheim (Bad Nauheim vacation rentals | Bad Nauheim travel guide) BAB5 (B 275, ~20 km):

An “old” spa town with flair. Kings and emperors felt just as good here as 19th century stars and even Elvis Presley. Bad Nauheim has a lot to offer, e.g. the modern spa, many interesting events for young and old, cozy cafés, steam train rides through the Wetterau, the beautiful shopping promenade at the Kurpark spa gardens, and more.

Take the B275 west, Bad Nauheim>Usingen (Usingen vacation rentals | Usingen travel guide), and you’ll reach the Roman Castel/Limes-Saalburg, Bad Homburg (Homburg vacation rentals | Homburg travel guide), the Taunus including the Grosser Feldberg (Feldberg vacation rentals | Feldberg travel guide) with falconry along the beautiful Usa valley (www.taunus-wetterau-limes.de). Take B 275 east, Bad Nauheim>Florstadt (Florstadt vacation rentals | Florstadt travel guide) through the fertile Wetterau to the Vogelsberg (www.vogelsberg-touristik.de and www.viavulkania.net).

Bad Salzhausen (~15 km):

Germany’s smallest but most beautiful spa town. Spa gardens with salt works, saline pool, sauna landscape.

Büdingen (Büdingen vacation rentals | Büdingen travel guide) (~17 km):

Castle with large park, old town, many shops.

Hanau (Hanau vacation rentals | Hanau travel guide):

BAB 45 to Hanauer Kreuz or B 45 through the Wetterau. There, connection main train station Hanau>Frankfurt central train station>Airport. The city of the Brothers Grimm with the beautiful castle Wilhelmsbad, large spa gardens with theater, puppet museum, golf course, and more., as well as castle Philippsruhe with large open-air theater on the Main river.

Ortenberg, Schotten (Schotten vacation rentals | Schotten travel guide), Gedern (Gedern vacation rentals | Gedern travel guide) (~20-30 km):

Beautiful old towns with lots of half-timbered constructions. The Vogelsberg mountain, great for hiking, bike or motorbike tours starts here. Schottenring!

There are also many other points of interest here, e.g. Ronneburg (Ronneburg vacation rentals | Ronneburg travel guide) (with falconry) and Münzenburg castles, the Wetterauer Tintenfass (ink pot), all with medieval markets, Glauburg and the Glauberg mountain (where the Celtic lord’s statue was found) and Museum of the Celts, and more.

Angermünde:

Beautiful old town, gothic churches, interesting surroundings and sights, lots of nature, ship’s lock in Finow, Chlorin monastery (music festival), open air-museum, many romantic lakes, ideally explored by bike. 70 km to Berlin (Berlin vacation rentals | Berlin travel guide) or to the Baltic Sea with very good connection by train.

My recommendation: Hotel Weiss, Angermünde, in the Puschkinallee, where I myself have stayed regularly. Great service.

Florstadt:

I can highly recommend the hotel Ysenburg, an “old” water castle with a long tradition, in Staden, in wonderful location at a side arm of the Nidda river. Great Renaissance furnishings, excellent kitchen. Privately owned. Centrally located, only 500 m to the BAB45. Staden is a typical, very nicely kept Hessian village with old “city rights” and prizes for its beauty, but only 700 inhabitants. It is also noted on the website www.florstadt.de – Hotel Restaurant Cafë Schloss Ysenburg (unfortunately, without website or e-mail). It is truly something special.

From Frankfurt Airport the distance to the unit at Goldbachstr. 13, 61197 Florstadt is about 62 km (38.7 miles), approximately a 40 minutes drive by car.
