We rent out vacation apartments, a room and a vacation home in the beautiful Baltic Sea resort Prerow. The complex is centrally located, offering ideal holiday conditions for young and old, whether looking for a family vacation, bathing, outdoors relaxation or sports action (bicycle, sailing, swimming, surfing, kitesurfing, diving). The wide North beach with fine white sand, shallow water and the sea bridge can be reached in about 10 minutes of walking. Nature lovers can head to the West beach and discover the natural beauty of the peninsula Fischland-Darss-Zingst.

Our apartments are tastefully and comfortably equipped with solid wood furniture and decorated in cottage style. They all have a pantry kitchen, satellite TV, radio, DSL internet connection (from 2011 on), and bathroom with shower and toilet.

Our complex is being run as a non-smoking facility, in support of the healthy climate of Baltic Sea resort Prerow which many of our guests appreciate. We also offer bed sheets not conducive to allergies and are careful to prefer natural products in the house’s furnishings.

The vacation apartment is tastefully and comfortably equipped with solid wood furniture and decorated in cottage style. It has a television and radio with CD player. The large bathroom is well-furnished and has a shower, toilet, and hair dryer. For fixing meals, the fully-equipped kitchen offers dishwasher, stove with four-burner Ceran stovetop, baking oven, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, etc.

How to Get Here:

By car:

From Hamburg (Hamburg vacation rentals | Hamburg travel guide) towards Lübeck (Lübeck vacation rentals | Lübeck travel guide) on the A1, then on A20 towards Rostock (Rostock vacation rentals | Rostock travel guide). At the intersection Rostock, continue on A19 to exit Rostock/Ost, then on B105 in direction of Stralsund (Stralsund vacation rentals | Stralsund travel guide) to “Fischland/Darß.“

From Berlin (Berlin vacation rentals | Berlin travel guide) towards Hamburg on the A24, take A19 at the intersection Wittstock/Dosse to the exit Rostock/Ost, then on B105 in direction of Stralsund to “Fischland/Darß.“

By train:

You can take an IC or IR train to Ribnitz-Damgarten/West. From there, a bus (line 210) will take you on the Darß. Alternatively, you can take a regional train to the train station Barth and take bus line 210 from there.

Bicycles you have brought can be stored in our bike shed. Rental bikes are available from Fahrradverleih (bike rental) Lowka, Tel. 038233-69777, which is located just two houses farther.

Sauna

Optionally, our house has a sauna available to our guests.

DSL line:

From 2011 on, internet connection is offered for EUR 5 per stay.

Parking:

One car parking spot per accommodation is available for our guests at the back of the house.

Supermarket, bakery and drugstore can be found some 200 m from the apartment. In the city center, there is also another large shopping center.

Bookstore:

The bookstore “Meerbücher” is located two houses farther (at Strandstrasse 20).

Directly across the street, there is a ergotherapy office also offering massages, ideal for ambulant treatments.

Prerow (Prerow vacation rentals | Prerow travel guide) – Beaches and Nature:

Nowadays, Prerow is one of the most popular Baltic sea’ resorts which, thanks to its extensive beaches and much greenery, has kept its distinct character.

The beach of Prerow (Prerower Strand) is considered one of the most beautiful on the German Baltic Sea coast. It is up to 100 m wide, some 5 km long, with the finest white sand and crystal clear, shallow water, particularly nice for children, in the protected location of the Prerow Bay, offering pure relaxation to those seeking sun or water fun. The water quality has been awarded the Blue Flag as sign of its excellence.

In the national park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft, you can observe nature being immersed in it, whether observing the way the coast is being built and destroyed, watching the large flocks of birds or the small discoveries by the wayside.

Until 1872, the Prerow river still had a connection to the Baltic Sea, which got closed in a strong storm tide. Today, it is a calm lake, partially more than three meters deep, with a rich plant and animal life. It is part of the national park.

The Natureum Darsser Ort is a branch of the Maritime Museum Stralsund which has been operating at the Darsser Ort, the northernmost point of the Darss, since 1991. The lighthouse, which is 150 years old and 35 m high, offers a wide view over the landscape.

Watching the up to 40000 cranes glide through the air in fall is a nature spectacle without compare. On their way to their winter quarters, they spend a few weeks here.

The deer’s mating time is another special spectacle of fall, and the highlight of a hunter’s year. During that time, national park rangers offer observation tours through the forests.

Sights in Prerow:

Kapitänshäuser: The town is, like the villages Born and Wieck, characterized by the many old, typically reed-roofed, captain’s houses. These are oftentimes decorated by carved and colorfully painted entrance doors showing symmetrical, usually floral, motives which were made during long sea voyages.

Seemannskirche: The seafarer’s church of Prerow, built 1728, has a nave of brick and a wooden spire. It contains many model ships (votive ships) which were most often donated by ship’s crews who were rescued at sea. The church’s cemetery still contains old captain’s graves from around 1800.

Darss-Museum: This regional museum portrays the geology, flora, fauna as well as the history of seafaring on sailboats and fishery on the peninsula. The museum’s garden holds several old fisher’s boats, and boat makers show the old craft techniques.

Boddenfahrten: Nostalgic rides to the resting places of the cranes or the locations where seals rest.

Seebrücke: The longest sea bridge has a length of 395 m and offers a nice view towards Darsser Ort. At its foot is the beginning of a small path for strolls, leading towards the town center.
