The vacation apartment was perfect! We couldn’t believe the incredible view from the balcony. The kids’ room was cozy, and the sleeper couch for my youngest was comfortable. We loved the fact that there was a heated INDOOR pool there for the rainy days, which you can always count on in northern Europe in July. We loved the lake, the fact that the market was a five minute walk away, the fact that we could prepare our own food and not have to go out to a restaurant for every meal. We loved that we could bike to Neuschwanstein from Fussen and that there were so many beautiful hikes all around us. The owners of the Seespitz were lovely and very welcoming. I loved the sauna, since I’m always cold. There was even a view of the lake from the small windows in the sauna! I could go on and on about this place. It was pricey but very well worth the expense. We want to go back there again some day.

Bettina,
both Ruedesheim and Fuessen went very well: Margaret and her mother [owners] do a great job at the Ruedesheim Pension Blattersbach. They serve breakfest with all four rooms worth of people at different tables. She gives out complimentary juice glasses when her guests leave. My girlfriend lost an earring when we were there; we called her five days later and she had found it and even drove down to the train station to give it to us. She's a very sociable lady who loves having people around.

Fuessen was also good - It's right on the Austrian border, and a couple of kilometers from the A7 Autobahn. It's only 5 or 8 k from Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. We saw the Neuschwanstein which was great. The Alps are beautiful there. We would have liked to rent a canoe but didn't have time. The rooms at SeeSpitz have refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers, and there's a clothes washing machine downstairs. Free internet and coffee were helpful too. We got on a train to Munich from Fuessen at 7AM and were surprised when alot of kids got on with open beers in hand and carrying cases of beer too; but it was Oktoberfest.
