This 62 sq. m large apartment was renovated and refurbished in August 2008 and is located on the upper floor of the Pharao house in Munich-East/Oberföhring. It consists of:

Combined living/dining room, ~23 sq.m, with sleeper sofa for two, flat-screen TV with satellite reception and stereo system, dinner table for four, modern wall cupboard, glass cupboard.

Bedroom of ~13 sq.m with double bed (1.6 x 2 m), satellite TV, two wardrobes and two dressers. Both living and bedroom give access to the corner balcony which is 15 m long and 1.5 m wide.

Fully equipped kitchen (four-hob ceramic stovetop, convection baking oven, additional miniature baking oven e.g. for preparing a quick pizza, fridge with freezer compartment, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, tableware, glasses, etc.)

Bathroom with bathtub, also usable as shower; toilet

All windows are equipped with exterior blinds. On request, car parking in the underground parking garage can be provided for a fee of EUR 3 per day, WLAn internet access for EUR 2 per day.

The Pharaoh house (the locals just call it Pharaoh) is a pyramid-shaped residential building in Munich built in 1975. It is located east of the English Garden at the northern edge of the Oberföhring district. The street address is Fritz-Meyer-Weg.

Together with the “Fuchsbau” (fox hole) in Munich-Schwabing, which has a similar architectural structure consisting of three wings but is considerably smaller, it is one of the most spectacular buildings in the city of Munich. The 18 levels-tall terrace pyramid with its three tracts, towards the southwest, northwest and northeast, is an eye-catcher in the North of Munich that is visible from afar.

Right in the entrance area of the building complex, there are several restaurants and a range of shops.

The residents come from all ages and occupations; that the area/building is supposedly a bad one cannot be affirmed by the people who live there, it is probably due to the building’s having been (ab)used as setting for several TV crime movies.

In the residential complex, there are both the usual shopping opportunities such as supermarket and bakery, and also several cafés, restaurants, an internet café, pharmacy, etc.

Special Features:

Very close to the English Garden (about 10 minutes of walking) and 10 minutes by car to a large lake for swimming, making it very nice for spare time activities.

Public Transportation:

Bus stop in front of the house, 10 minutes to the subway station “Arabellapark” (U4); 6 minutes by subway to the inner city, or 16 minutes (with two changes) to the fairgrounds.

Good connection to the S-Bahn trains going to the airport (6 minutes by bus to S-Bahn station “Johanneskirchen,” 30 minutes on the S-Bahn to the airport).
