This guest house enjoys an excellent central location between major cities and attractions, such as Bochum (Bochum vacation rentals | Bochum travel guide), Dortmund (Dortmund vacation rentals | Dortmund travel guide), Essen (Essen vacation rentals | Essen travel guide), and Castrop-Rauxel (Castrop-Rauxel vacation rentals | Castrop-Rauxel travel guide). The house has a large backyard with lawn and barbecue and is on a quiet side street in easy reach of bus and tramway stations as well as shops, restaurants, and cultural landmarks.
Not only because of the musical Starlight Express, but also with many other cultural highlights, the Ruhr area has developed into a tourist magnet in North Rhine-Westphalia and indeed all of Germany.
Transport:
The house is very conveniently located. In 5-15 minutes, you can reach the autobahns A2, A40, A42, A43 and A45. Getting into downtown Dortmund, Essen, Herne (Herne vacation rentals | Herne travel guide), Gelsenkirchen (Gelsenkirchen vacation rentals | Gelsenkirchen travel guide) or Bottrop (Bottrop vacation rentals | Bottrop travel guide) takes only 5-20 minutes; getting to Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf vacation rentals | Düsseldorf travel guide), 30 minutes.
Bus and tram stops are just 100 m from the house, so that all special locations in Bochum, e.g. the Starlight-Hall, can be reached within some 15 minutes.
If you come by Deutsche Bahn, get out at Bochum’s main railway station and take the Bogestra-Bahn 308/318 towards “Schürbankstr.” Trains leave every 20 minutes; the ride to final stop, Schürbankstr., takes about 20 minutes, and from there it’s just about 5 minutes of walking to our house.
