Location and Surroundings:
Grünendeich is located in the larger metropolitan area of Hamburg; the closest bus stop of Hamburg’s public transport is only 15 km away. For city travelers, the apartments are ideally located in the Old Country
, the fruit garden of the metropolis Hamburg. The region is an inviting area for walks, hikes, and bike tours along the Elbe river; Hamburg is a harbor much-used by cruise ships and hosting many musicals, for example. The airports Hamburg-Fühlsbüttel and Lübeck-Blankensee (used by Ryanair) are some 60 minutes of driving away. On request, we can pick guests up from the airport.
The newly (2002) built vacation houses offer a total of five apartments for four people each. They border on their parking lot: you can drive up to numbers 1-3 for getting your luggage and park on the parking spots across from numbers 4 or 5.
The houses are at the Lühedeich levee, on which you can walk to the levee machinery in just 15 minutes. There, you can also find the pier where the Lühe-Schulan ferry provides a connection to Wedel, and the HADAC steamboats one to the Hamburg piers (on weekends and public holidays only).
The city limits of Hamburg proper are some 15 minutes by car away; you can also use the new S-Bahn train from Horneburg or Dollern.
The Vacation Cottages:
House 1 holds two vacation apartments, separated by a movable wall (made of a material that provides excellent sound insulation. Moving it aside creates a room of 45 sq.m.
The tables in the two rooms can be pushed together to form one long table. Connected, the two apartments are great for small family celebrations as well as business meetings or seminars.
Vacation apartment 5 was finished in 2008 and lies outside of the garden, across from the parking lot.
