  • Don't overestimate your strength! Approach your limits slowly. Beginners are especially surprised at how exhausting a steep climb can be.
  • Dress appropriately, not too thin nor too thick. A waterproof jacket should always be there! Has proven to be functional underwear, which carried away the sweat from the body. These benefits, however, only slightly when all the clothes are made of layers of underwear.
  • Avoid bright colors because they're easy to recognize for all the mosquitoes and horseflies.
  • Wear sensible walking shoes!
  • Go hiking with several people if possible. If you go alone, notify someone of the area in which you are traveling and when you should return.
  • Phones are not full insurance, and in the mountain areas there is often no reception. You still take your phone with a small lamp and a small whistle. In an emergency, put your cell phone reception on a radio direction-finding so you can track.
  • Remember that the sun in the mountains can quickly cause a sunburn or sunstroke. Reapply therefore an exposed skin with sunscreen and put a hat on.
  • Absolutely stay on the marked trails.
