The Star of the Alps...

This spacious apartment for four to eight people (plus a baby) in one of the best locations of Grainau. It is a combination of two adjacent apartments: 1 and 2. The generous dining corner in Unit 1 easily sits everybody. A patio surrounds both units and leads to the backyard.

There are two bedrooms and bathrooms, and the lavishly furnished living areas include two flat screen TV. Free parking spaces are available in the garage and on the property. Internet access, laundry machines, and a sauna are also free of use.

General Facilities

All apartments are lovingly furnished in country house style and feature Internet, flat screen cable TV, CD radio, a fully-equipped kitchen with a microwave, a dishwasher, a toaster, an egg cooker, a coffee machine, a kettle, and a mixer. For high-quality sleeping, adjustable low-allergy mattresses are provided.

Adding a bed is possible in all units as children under six years old stay for free! Parking space and a garage are available directly on the property.

Location and Surroundings:

In one of the best locations of Grainau (Grainau vacation rentals | Grainau travel guide), a municipality close to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Garmisch-Partenkirchen vacation rentals | Garmisch-Partenkirchen travel guide), these apartments are not only extremely attractive, but also enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Alps, especially the Zugspitze and Wank peaks. The four new apartments are individually decorated in country style and have been granted 4 stars by the DTV. The nonsmoking apartments meet all expectations of comfort and convenience.

The surroundings offer immediate access to trails for walking, hiking, and biking, as well as cross-country skiing paths during winter. Downtown facilities include spa services, an adventure playground, a skating rink, and mini-golf, all just a few minutes away. There is also the Höllental Gorge.

Skiing

Oberstdorf is a perfect place for skiing in Winter with access to many different ski areas to chose from. You can get a "Kurkarte" for 2 Euros per night. With this one you can use the Skibus (a shuttle) to the lifts for free. The shuttle stop is located about 3-4 minutes from the apartment. Please ask for exact location of the shuttle stop when you arrive and the owner will provide directions. Depending on which ski area you like you need about 5 to 15 minutes to get there.

Directions:

By car from Munich (Munich vacation rentals | Munich travel guide) through the Garmisch-Partenkirchen highway and from Augsburg (Augsburg vacation rentals | Augsburg travel guide) through Schongau (Schongau vacation rentals | Schongau travel guide) on the B17, and follow signs to Oberammergau (Oberammergau vacation rentals | Oberammergau travel guide) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the B23 and A7 highways and continue on Ulm-Kempten and Reutte in Tirol Ehrwald. From the south you reach the alpine village on the Brenner-Innsbruck-Mittenwald highway.

By train, get off at the Garmisch-Partenkirchen main station. Take the Bavarian Zugspitze Railway connection or the Eibsee bus to Grainau. By plane, land at the Munich International Airport and then continue by train or car to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The region of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is great for walks and mountain hikes in any season; winter makes ice skating possible on many of the lakes. The Riessersee lake was the site where the ice skating and ice hockey competitions of the 1936 Olympic Games took part, for example.
