The convenient location—about 5 km from the Kirchberg/Jagst exit—not only makes it it easy to reach, it also gives you access to popular towns such as Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bad Mergentheim, Schwäbisch Hall, Langenburg, or Dinkelsbühl, all within one day travel.
The picturesque area is much appreciated by hikers and cyclists as an excellent starting point for excursions.
Arrival:
Gaggstatt is a small community situated between Kirchberg an der Jagst and Rot am See.
- Highway A6, Nürnberg-Heilbronn
- Exit Kirchberg/Jagst (No. 45)
- Continue on Landstraße L 1040 after Gaggstatt (3 km)
- Once in Gaggstatt, turn right into the residential area
- At the end of Rosenstraße (No. 19) you'll find the cabin well identified with a plate
History:
The small and original wood house was formerly used as a shop selling Christian clothes and articles between 2005 and 2009. After upgrades were performed in and around the house, the home has been receiving guest since January 2010.
The name "Zum Hirsch" or "At the Deer" is a reference to the emblem of Württemberg where the deer faces Grief, a mythical beast considered to be the protector of the state of Baden-Württemberg.
