During the restoration of the old rooms, we have tried new concepts in order not to let the character of past use be lost. The living room has a four meter ceiling height. The light can come up during the day unfiltered through the two windows. The easy, friendly furnishing in refreshing colors still emphasizes the atmosphere of the living space, with a cozy two-seater in the center. The sturdy wooden table is at the heart of the family kitchen. The table is free standing and provides room for up to four people. Two old lamps provide adequate light on the dining table. It looks like an old style kitchen, but it is truly a piece of the modern era. The tiled counter tops follow the example of a farmer's kitchen made of solid lark, the surface is treated with the carpenter grinder, nails and other devices to achieve the patina. As part of the castle Kayl, the present house has a long history behind it. In this historic setting, you will never be bored. Let this historic site work on you and give your imagination free rein. The present house stands where formerly loomed the great towers of castle Kayl. It was one of the parts of the enlargement that Count Carl Franz Ludwig (1686 - 1721) built. The baroque portico, over which the apartment lies, is still well preserved, and parts of the stairway can still be seen in the bathroom of the apartment.
