House Meeresfrische, newly built in 2006, offers four comfortable non-smoking vacation apartments furnished to be light and friendly, with an eye for detail.

Two of the apartments are on the upper floor, the other two are accessible even by wheelchair. There is a nice lawn for summer sunbathing or barbecues behind the house.

All the apartments have separate entrance, kitchenette, satellite TV and free internet access. Also, a car parking spot in the courtyard comes with every apartment.

The house is in a central but quiet place in Kühlungsborn, with nice boutiques and souvenir shops as well as the extensive beach and the city forest just five minutes of walking away. Groceries, bakeries and butcher’s are also easily reached.

Highly recommended cafés and bakeries make for a good start to the day; some 120 maritime and international eateries provide culinary diversity for dinner.

Not far, one also finds a bike rental, movie theater, the Molli (railway) museum, a solarium, hairdresser’s, various cafés, restaurants and bars, and more…

How to Get Here:

By car:

From Hamburg/Lübecke, we recommend taking the new Baltic Sea autobahn which you can easily reach via the A1. Exit A20 at Wismar/Insel Poel, continue on B105 towards Rostock up to Neubukow and follow the signs for Kühlungsborn.

From Berlin, exit at Lübeck and continue on A20. After some 12 km, exit at Bad Doberan, or exit at Kröpelin after 20 km. Follow the signs to Kühlungsborn and follow the Hauptstrasse which will lead you past Neue Reihe to Hermann-Häcker-Strasse.

By bus and railway:

Come by railway, comfortably and affordably, and doing something for the environment. From the Rostock main station, there are (nearly hourly) buses to Kühlungsborn Bahnhof West (line 121) or there is the Molli-Bus or the steam train Molli from Bad Doberan. Typically, direct connections are available.

By plane:

The closest airport is Rostock Laage, some 45 km from the vacation home.

Travel Tips

Kühlungsborn

Traditional grand architecture and modern comfort can both be found in this town with a beach promenade that is more than 3 km long, connecting the east and west parts of it. From one end of the town to the other, the fine sand beach extends over 6 km. It is perfect for children, as the water only very gradually becomes deeper.

Kühlungsborn also offer enough fun and action, from beach parties and Open-Air cinema to many opportunities for sports. Gourmets will find restaurants that satisfy their demanding palate.

Rostock-Warnemünde

A jewel amongst the Baltic Sea towns, with lighthouse, beach promenade presenting a walk along a model of our solar system and ending at the Hotel Neptune, one of the former GDR’s best-known hotels.

Easily the highlight is the Alter Strom, a former part of the river Warnow and formerly the only access to the harbor. The salt doesn’t just taste of salt and wind, but also – no small thanks to the many boats – of adventure on the seas, while the quaint houses bring the visitor right back to the times of this former fishing village.

There are also the Hanse city Wismar, offering so many impressions, we highly recommend taking at least one whole day to explore all there is to see!
