The family-run vacation house Amethyst is to be found in a calm part of Garmisch. It contains eight comfortably furnished vacation apartments for 1-7 guests with either terrace or balcony, and has a large lawn with barbecue.

Pets are permitted with prior agreement.

Furnishings:

All apartments are comfortably furnished in massive wood, in the style of a cottage (Landhaus). They offer satellite TV, CD/radio, fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker. Most also have dishwashing machine and baking oven.

Up to three bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as one open fireplace (in apartment 5) are available. Washing machine, dryer, bike and ski storage are available as well.

For families with small children, high chairs and baby beds are available on request.

Free WiFi internet access is provided free of charge; the router is located in the basement to keep potential impact of electromagnetic transmissions as low as possible.

Location:

The family-run vacation home Amethyst is located in a quiet part of Garmisch. It offers eight comfortable vacation apartments for 1-7 guests with a choice of terrace or balcony, and has a large garden with barbecue.

It is a great place for relaxing while enjoying the majestic view of Wetterstein, Alpspitze and Zugspitze mountains.

Hiking and cross-country skiing trails start in the immediate vicinity. Shopping (bakery, butcher, greengrocer, drugstore, supermarket) as well as a bus stop are just 5 minutes of walking away.

The Loisach entertainment park (with bathing lake, soccer and beach volleyball, children’s adventure playground, lawn) is also just a few minutes away.

Skiing

Oberstdorf is a perfect place for skiing in Winter with access to many different ski areas to chose from. You can get a "Kurkarte" for 2 Euros per night. With this one you can use the Skibus (a shuttle) to the lifts for free. The shuttle stop is located about 3-4 minutes from the apartment. Please ask for exact location of the shuttle stop when you arrive and the owner will provide directions. Depending on which ski area you like you need about 5 to 15 minutes to get there.

Check-in is between 3 and 6 p.m.; please come straight to the apartment within that time.

The region of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is great for walks and mountain hikes in any season; winter makes ice skating possible on many of the lakes. The Riessersee lake was the site where the ice skating and ice hockey competitions of the 1936 Olympic Games took part, for example.
