"Hello. Are the spring and spa suitable for children and do you wear swimming costumes as I know a lot of spas are clothing free? We're staying in Mainz and thinking of going on the river cruise but don't know which town to stop at. We have 2 children aged 13 and 9. We can stop here, Lorch, Bacharach, Kaub or Oberwesel. Thanks. Tina" (posted 07/25/2015)

Hi Tina, I do not really know what you want to know exactly. - In the places mentioned Lorch, Bacharach, Kaub or Oberwesel is no pool. In Bingen is a natural swimming pool which is not heated and spring is still cold. When you visit a swimming pool, the children should definitely have at this age swimsuits on. Only small babies may without the bathroom. In Ingelheim is a beautiful swimming pool, but because you need a car to get there. Unfortunately I can not give you a more positive response. Nevertheless, a lot of fun in Germany! Friendly greetings from Bacharach, Gisela Ginsberg

I suggest to keep in Oberwesel. There is the Church of Our Lady, a meteorite museum, a medieval town, walk across the old city walls and a local history museum. About the dress code at the spa of Assmannshausen I know nothing.

The spa is also suitable for children with bathing suits. A river trip from Mainz to Bacharach ISF very interesting. Greetings Fam. Metzenroth Haus Rosi
