In Bad Sachsa, there is a shopping street, the "Marktstrasse", There are several supermarkets (Rewe, Aldi, etc). In the supermarkets there are automated bakers, as well as bakers in a shop-in-shop system. Here you can buy fresh bread and rolls. In addition, in the "Marktstrasse" there four more bakers and confectioners that daily offer freshly baked goods, cakes, and pies. Some of the supermarkets are already open at 6:00 in the morning and are open all day until 10:00 pm. The retailers have different opening times, which vary between 7:00 und 8:00 am.

Bad Sachsa is a beautiful spa town with an idyllic spa park complete with a pond. There is a falcon park, where you can enjoy live birds of prey. On the Sachsenstein, there is an old castle ruin. The Ravensberg observation point also has a magnificent view of the Harz Mountains. The Sole thermal spa is also well known. The St. Nikolai church is well worth seeing. For families, there is the Maerchengrund, a park with known fairy tale scenes set out. Outside of Bad Sachsa is the world famous Walkenried Monastery (ruins) with an impressive museum. Day trips can be taken to Goslar (Imperial City from the Middle Ages), Wernigerode (half-timbered town with a large castle), and Blankenburg (2 castles with a large castle park, old town is worth visiting). For these tours, the Harzwichtel vacation apartment would be well and centrally located. For a good overview, you can access our homepage and directions / location and routes. I hope that these notes will be useful. Best regards Carsten Woitas, Harzwichtel Apartment, St.Andreasberg
