I cannot say anything about this, since we live in Kaiserslautern. Bann is a small town in the district of Kaiserslautern, about 20 km away. I know that in the neighboring village of Bann, Queidersbach, there is a very good bakery (Landbäckerei Schmitt, www.landbaeckerei-schmitt.de). Regards

Bann is very quaint, cozy and perfect for relaxing, like most places in the Palatinate! When it comes to landscapes, the Palatinate as the largest forested area in Europe is definitely worth seeing. In addition, the Palatinate is a region steeped in history with many old castles. And then there are also the many wine villages with their wine festivals. For reading up on Bann I can also recommend looking on Wikipedia.

"Why should someone do a vacation in Bann?" Good question that I cannot, unfortunately, answer. Apart from the castle Nanstein in Landstuhl (6km), I don’t see anything one could go and visit. Bann is about 12 km from the Rammstein Air Base, which makes it a potential cheap place to live for American military personnel.
