Buren, a beautiful piece of nature! In the south of Paderborn country, the former county town with its 22,000 inhabitants is nestled in the river valleys of the picturesque Alme and Aftetals. Due to the special situation in the Paderborn plateau, while also being in the corner of the Sauerland, the Büren area offers a great tourist versatility for young and old. The Büren country is particularly characterized by its historic past. The Baroque Jesuit Church "Mary Immaculate" and the Wewelsburg with its historical museum and the newly opened documentation "Wewelsburg 1933-1945" are the attractions of our region. Buren is particularly marked by the Alme and Aftetal and by the Ringelsteiner forest. 40% of Bürener urban area is forested. Optimal transport connections are by the Paderborn / Lippstadt Airport and the motorway access to the A44 and A33, as well as public transportation opportunities for all guests and citizens, constitute the ideal conditions to enjoy a relaxing and memorable vacation with us in Buren. The Bürener country is dominated by the river valleys of Alme and Afte. Extensive floodplains determine the nature along the two rivers, and the two rivers unite in Buren at the striking trees "Adam and Eve". The rather flat northern part of the area belongs to the natural area to Paderborn Plateau, the mountainous southern part of the country Bürener to the Sauerland region.
