More about the History of Colmberg
In 770 the construction of a wooden fortification took place on the "piston mountain", founding Altenstatt (old name for Colmberg). The city castle was privately owned after the dissolution of the Retirement Office in 1880. In the city reformation of 1972, the communities of Auerbach (Auerbach vacation rentals | Auerbach travel guide) and Bieg were joined with Colmberg. The communities Binzwangen Bach and Poppe were also included in 1978.
