Where can one get a great breakfast in the morning?

"Where in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl can I buy fresh rolls in the morning or get a nice breakfast with coffee?" (posted 07/01/2014)

We offer our guests our "bread delivery service" to. This means we deliver the morning fresh bread from the bakery. If you want to buy bread itself, there are four shops where you can buy bread: In the "Dorflädele", in the "capuccino" in the supermarket REWE and in the organic market Rinklin. In the morning you can get organic market Rinklin a full breakfast and from 8 clock. I hope I could help. If you have other questions, we are happy to help. Friedhelm Rinklin

Can you possibly tell me 2-3 popular travel tips for Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl, which everyone visiting Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl should see? Also let me know 2-3 special insider travel tips for Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl that a typical tourist may not know about, but that you can highly recommend. Thanks!" (posted 05/15/2014)

There are many possibilities, starting with one great project, the Kaiserstuhl Seed Garden (Kaiserstühler Samengarten, http://www.kaiserstuehler-garten.de – unfortunately, the website is only in German), where seeds of old vegetable varieties are being maintained and grown. Demonstration garden. The great view from the tower on the Eichelspitze (the second-highest peak in the Kaiserstuhl, 520 m altitude) over some 100 km of Black Forest landscape. When the weather is good, one can see Strasbourg in the North and the Swiss Jura in the South. And there are many small things. There are many well-marked bike paths, a network of hiking paths, walks through the vineyard hills (if staying in one of our apartments, we can guide them ourselves – with visit to wine cellar and wine tasting! If you come in September/October, you can also help with the wine harvest). The location is great for various excursions, too: Alsace/France about 20 km, Basel/Switzerland 70 km, Freiburg/Black Forest 20 km, Europapark 30 km, and more. It would be our pleasure to welcome you here. If you let us know your wishes and interests, we will gladly help with the planning of your tours. Best, Friedhelm Rinklin

Eichstetten is in the Kaiserstuhl, an area famous for its vintages. There are places to do wine tastings everywhere, and the same with tasty local fare. Freiburg with its beautiful old town and the Münster cathedral is close, too. The French Alsace region is only a few minutes of driving away and a great place to go hiking. Unfortunately, I do not know the place and thus recommend calling the town hall of Eichstetten to ask there.

Nice vintner village on the eastern slope of the Kaiserstuhl, a former volcano, the slopes of which are covered in vineyards. From the village, a steep road leads up to the best place from which to hike the Kaiserstuhl: right or left along the “crater” rim. Do you happen to have ancestry in Eichstetten? There used to be a large Jewish community there, and I know a historian who did research about it.
