More about the History of Eystrup
The area around Eystrup was settled very early. An archaeological find, in the year 750 BC is dated ( "Hortfund of Blankenmoor at Eystrup"), consists of bronze jewelry, such as neck ring, another ring and a chain of amber. Eystrup was officially mentioned in a church in 1179. The surrounding Eystrup localities are mentioned earlier.
Formerly belonging to Eystrup Landkreis Grafschaft Hoya, the city then fell under Landkreis Nienburg (Nienburg vacation rentals | Nienburg travel guide) in 1977. The planned merger in 2006 with the community Gandesbergen was rejected by the local council.
