In 1576, Hamburg (Hamburg vacation rentals | Hamburg travel guide) inherited both Famsen and Berne. Until 1 April 1937 Farmsen-Berne was an enclave between the Prussian territory. After 1945 Farmsen lost its rural character through the establishment of settlements, which attracted many new residents to it.
