More about the History of Fleringen
Since the early Middle Ages, Fleringen was governed by the monastery St. Irmin. After years of disputes, the abbey of St. Irmin was sold in 1761 for $250. It was sold to the Duke of Arenberg, allowing him to acquire the rights and domination over the three municipalities Fleringen, Oberhersdorf and Weinsheim.
