Frasdorf was mentioned for the first time in 1135 as Fradelsdorf. Wildenwart, Frasdorf and Umrathshausen belonged to Hochgerichtsbarkeit before 1800 under Wildenwart rule. Frasdorf was given its independent municipality in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria in 1818. The municipalities and Wildenwart Umrathshausen were amalgamated as part of administrative reform in the 70s to Frasdorf.
