In the Middle Ages, the small village of Lobloch was on the southeast lowlands of Mußbachs. Gimmeldingen was then founded much later in 1751 and is now so closely merged with the capital. As a tribute, a local road bears the name of the former village along with the Loblocher Schloessel and a local wine.
Gimmeldingen already grew in the 19th Century, with the eastern neighbor Mußbach together and had with him a joint at 500 ft road, which formed an unusual border: The houses on the north side belonged to as "Mußbacher road" to Gimmeldingen, on the south side as "Gimmeldingen road" to Mußbach. The road surface was entirely on the district Mußbachs the road also had to entertain. Since the simultaneous incorporation of both places to Neustadt is the common core uniformly "Kurpfalz street," the invisible district boundaries, however, continue to exist.
