Haan is a town in the Bergian district of Mettmann, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Haan is located about halfway between Dusseldorf (18 km) and Wuppertal (Wuppertal vacation rentals | Wuppertal travel guide) (13 km) at the junction of the Bergische Land to the Lower Rhine Basin. Officially, the city is in the Rhine, but culturally and architecturally it is dominated by the Bergisch land. With approximately 30,000 inhabitants Haan is the third smallest of the ten towns in the district of Mettmann. The highest point of the city lies at 213 m above sea level, the lowest point in 72 m above sea level, on average it is 150 m high.

Haan is officially divided into two districts: the so-called "Alt-Haan" that forms with about 22,500 inhabitants, the greater part of the city. Haan flows through the northern part of Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf vacation rentals | Düsseldorf travel guide), in the southern part of the Itter.
