Winter Vacation: With up to 238 km of prepared slopes and a season running form the end of November to the beginning of May, Ischgl is number one in most Austrian ski resort rankings. Aside from the beautiful panorama at 2872 m above sea level, the town is also well-known for its winter night life. Apres-ski bars and discos en masse deliver an unforgettable time for thousands of enthusiastic winter sports fans each year. Those who want it quieter have a great opportunity for that in Kappl, 12 km away. It’s only a few minutes by car or in the comfortable, and free, shuttle bus. Summer Vacation: In summer, not so much happens, at least when it comes to the party miles. The skiing region still offers a lot, from hikes in the Silvretta mountains to mountain bike tours or the ‘smuggler’s trail’ into the Samnaun. Insider Tipps: For fans of motorcycles, it is possible to rent a different one of well-known brands such as BMW, Ducati, etc. every day and to see Ischgl and its surroundings that way. In summer, the Silvretta All Inclusive-Card is offered; it is free and lets the guests in the Paznaun valley travel on public buses and the skiing lifts for free. It also includes free entrance to swimming pools and to the swimming lake. In winter, be sure to take the new PIZ Val Gronda cable car. It spans 462 m with only two supports of 90 and 64 m height. From its mountain station, one has a great look over the Silvretta mountains. If you want to party, not just ski, visit the ApreSki ‘Champagne Hut’ which is right in town and offers a cozy bar with rustic furnishings and great dance music.
