More about the History of Kamp-Bornhofen

Bornhofen was first mentioned in 949, while the separate village of Kamp was documented later in 1138. In the turmoil after the French Revolution, both the French and Prussians were driven out of the area. Since 1947, the city has been a part of the Rheinland-Pfalz. In 1948, the municipal council voted to rename the city to Kamp-Bornhofen.
