With over 100 attractions and performances, 11 roller coasters, and 13 European-themed areas, this park draws thousands of tourists to the region every summer. When strolling through this picturesque town, make sure to check out the Rathaus, St. Laurentius Church (the oldest preserved building in the town, founded in 1275), and the Kirnburg Castle ruins. There are plenty of outdoor activities to entertain young and old alike. The Waldklettergarten (high ropes course) is great for older children, and it offers 8 courses with 90 bridges, passages, and climbing nets. Numerous biking routes and hiking routes (look for the brochures showing their locations) extend into the nearby area. You can also rent canoes in Kenzingen to explore the Elz River. If your interests are more culinary than athletic, you will be glad to learn that this area is known for its acclaimed wineries. Also, if possible, schedule your trip to coincide with Kenzingen's medieval-themed city festival in July. You will love the large medieval market complete with old-fashioned goods, artisans demonstrating their skills, street musicians, and knights in full regalia.
