Konz, with approx. 19,000 inhabitants, is located 8 km south of Trier (2011 years old), Germany's oldest city alone with over 100 places of interest. In Konz, the rivers Saar and Mosel flow together. Konz is also called the city of the four bridges. The modern and thriving city of Konz is located at the confluence of the Saar and Mosel rivers, and it offers, through its central location, an ideal starting point for excursions to the border triangle Germany-France-Luxembourg, as well as bike tours. Be it the bike paths along the Upper Mosel, Mosel, Sauer, and Saar, all cross paths in Konz. Konz can look back on a long history. A stone road bridge, reinforced with two towers, spanned the Saar already in Roman times. But the location of the important military road was called "Contionacum". Below the present church hill, the summer residence of the Roman Emperor Valentinian was Iocated (364-375). During a visit, the famous Roman poet Ausonius wrote a part of his "Mosella" at this place. In the area of the Imperial Villa, a medieval settlement area developed, with a church, parsonage and a castle. The Roman Bridge refers to the Konz's strategic location, which led to the Battle of the Bridge in 1675 in the early modern period and was accentuated in World War II by the reinforcement of Konz by the building up of the West Wall. The unique folklore and open-air museum Roscheider interprets the former rural popular culture throughout the region. The museum contains, among other things, a Hunsrück hamlet with seven half-timbered houses and faithfully rebuilt houses and farms that are furnished according to their former use and equipped with household items. In the Karthaus district is the Monastery Karthaus. Its magnificent Baroque facade of reddish sandstone with the main courtyard is reminiscent of a castle. The building now serves as a center for cultural events. The city of Konz is a true paradise for active holidays. In addition to bolomh and hiking along the Mosel and Saar, this area has many recreational facilities, such as fitness and wellness centers in modern sports facilities. You will also enjoy boat trips on the Mosel and Saar, wine tastings, mini golf, rowing or gliding.

Good day, Konz is a city at the confluence of the Saar and Mosel. The city is located in the Saar-Upper Mosel vacation area and is home to a very nice outdoor museum called Roscheiderhof. The urban area includes the wine-growing villages in the Konz valley with their many wineries, wine taverns, andcycling and hiking trails with beautiful views. The ancient Roman city of Trier with its rich cultural and historical heritage is not far away. Unfortunately, all I can say is that Konz is close to Trier and Saarburg. Konz has no charm except that it is close to the border of Luxemburg. Saarburg is enchanting with the waterfall in the middle of the city, the castle, and the historic city center, with the market square on the stream with its waterfall and food options that feel like they are in a large, open living room. And of course, there is Trier, the city of the Romans.
