Are there any local specialties in Marbach that tourists should try?
A visit to the restaurant „Glocke“ on Marktstrasse near the fountain is a must! There are many „game specialties“ at very affordable prices. The restaurant is in an old half-timbered house that is filled with beautiful Black Forest cuckoo clocks (there are at least 100 of them, and many of them still work). The owner hunts himself and serves you the deer, pigs, bunnies, etc. that he has hunted. Nothing could be fresher.
There are also Swabian specialties such as „Laugenbrötle“ and „Swabian Ravioli“ (very delicious when melted in butter) or „meat loaf“ that need to be tried.
Or you could drive to the „Schnitzel factory“ in „Klein-Ingersheim“ and enjoy a large portion of schnitzel. It’s not a real factory, just a very famous restaurant! Specialty...who would’ve thought? Its oversized schnitzel!
Where is a good butcher in Marbach? Restaurant for lunch?
Directly next to the fountain in the pedestrian zone (Marktstrasse) there are two very good butchers!
