Rangsdorf is a municipality in the district of Teltow-Fläming in Brandenburg in Germany. It has a airfield, from where on 20 July 1944 Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg flew in his unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler at Wolfsschanze.
The village lies on the plateau of Teltow (Teltow vacation rentals | Teltow travel guide) near Rangsdorfer Lake. The neighboring villages belong to the municipality are Ludwigsfelde, Blank-Mahlow, Mittenwalde and Zossen

Rangsdorf is made up of three smaller villages, Gross Machnow, Klein Kienitz, and Rangsdorf itself. The area has always been inhabited because of the proximity to the lake. Rangsdorf barely managed to survive the 30 years war and was almost barren because of it. On 20 July 1944 Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg flew in his unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler at Wolfsschanze.
