Rodenkirchen Overview

Rodenkirchen is a southern borough of Cologne (Cologne vacation rentals | Cologne travel guide) (Köln) in Germany. It has about 100,000 inhabitants and covers an area of 54.56 square kilometres (21.06 mile²). The borough includes the districts Bayenthal, Godorf, Hahnwald, Immendorf, Marienburg, Meschenich, Raderberg, Raderthal, Rodenkirchen, Sürth, Rondorf, Weiß and Zollstock

More about the History of Rodenkirchen

Rodenkirchen was established on 1 January 1975 following the incorporation of the formerly independent village Rodenkirchen and the City of Wesseling in the city of Cologne (Cologne vacation rentals | Cologne travel guide). In addition, as far back as 1888 it incorporated some of the neighborhoods assigned to the municipality. By a successful action against the constitution-Cologne Act, the District Wesseling on 1 July 1976 was given back its independence.
