"We (a young couple mid-twenties) to share in a few weeks a weekend in Scharbeutz and hope for stylish, young ideas, where you get to see the most beautiful places in Scharbeutz, can eat delicious and takes a couple of nice, modern boutiques." (posted 09/02/2015)

Hello, Scharbeutz is very clear. On the promenade are some nice boutiques. You can eat well at Gosch directly at the dune or anyone who loves Suhsi goes in the Hotel Bayside. From the upstairs restaurant on the 4th floor you have a magnificent view over the Bay of Lübeck and you can have a drink in the bar with a rooftop terrace.

Hello, Scharbeutz is so small and manageable that you can find (at the pier) everything in the center. Good restaurants, etc. This area was designed fundamentally new in recent years. If that's not enough, the neighboring municipality Timmendorfer beach offers (with more shops) for a visit. Between Scharbeutz and Timmendorfer beach is also much visited Baltic Sea spa. Timmendorfer beach is also the "Seelife" well worth a visit. Rolf Kirsten in Bad Schwartau

Scharbeutz is something for Best-Age'r With 25 years I would be more oriented to Travemünde / Lübeck. Scharbeutz has typical Baltic flair, no discos, dreamy, cozy but a few "Local / bars" for the "great and the rich", no hangouts

If you love the beach, Scharbeutz, Schleswig-Holstein, should be included on your list of coastal towns to visit. Scharbeutz is located on the Bay of Luebeck, about 12 miles north of the city of Luebeck and less than 10 miles southeast of Eutin. This town is popular for its fine, sandy beach, and families with children will be delighted to know that there is even a "play beach" here, designed with the younger set in mind. Other good activities for children include a mini-golf course and a high rope course (for older kids). Scharbeutz recently built a new promenade area along the dunes. Numerous cafes, lounges, restaurants, and shops can be found along the promenade. And there is even a movie theater here! Interestingly, the promenade was constructed exclusively with local, natural materials. Scharbeutz also offers numerous Nordic walking, hiking, and bicycle paths. During the summer months, a regular program of organized activities and workshops provide variety to those who wish to do more than lie on the beach all day. August is a great time to be in this town, since you can then take part in the community's annual street artist festival. Besides the beach, the area around Scharbeutz has some rich cultural sites that are worth visiting, including the museum for regional history in Poenitz and the unique stone church in Gleschendorf. Potential nearby day trips include excursions to both Luebeck and Eutin.
