Where can one get a great breakfast in the morning?

"Where in Walchensee can I buy fresh rolls in the morning or get a nice breakfast with coffee?" (posted 09/03/2014)

In Walchensee there is a small village shop where you can buy fresh bread in the morning. Breakfast itself in the place we were not because we always have the buns in the village shop, about 3 minutes walk from our apartment, got in our apartment. Sincerely Ina Keller

The small village Walchensee has a grocery store with butcher and bakery. Certainly, it is also possible to have breakfast in one of the hotels, as "external" guest.

In the summer you can swim in Walchensee wonderful, diving, boating, surfing (because of the unique winch) and fishing. It is the film village Flake there (from the Bulli Herbig film "Vicky") who visit. Even the Vikings film with Kirk Douglas was partially filmed at the Walchensee. For the technically curious, it is worth visiting the hydropower station. You can hike in beautiful surroundings or in Garmisch Partenkirchen Partnachklamm (very impressive) visit. Mittenwald nearby has eg a Geigenbaumuseum and much Bavarian flair. From Walchensee from day bus trips to the castles of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau offered. In Garmisch Partenkirchen (bus ride to get there is in the tourist tax included) you can climb the highest mountain in Germany (Zugspitze) or reached via cable car. Very nice is the Jachenau. Only about a toll road to be attained. Very original and idyllic. Otherwise, leave the Walchensee recovery is pure. Man enjoying the stunning views, the clear air and the beauty of the lake.

"Is there a more "deserted place" at Walchensee, where you can escape the tourist crowds? And possibly is a parking space for the car in the vicinity. Yours sincerely and thanks for your help, Anna Marquart" (posted 08/23/2016)

That will be difficult. In warm weather, it is already quite full. Our guests use the lakeside terrace with swimming raft. Unfortunately, I can not recommend a quiet corner without tourists. Sincerely Ina Keller

The Walchensee is not far from Murnau, but I do not go there. The water is quite cold for swimming. On the other hand, he is very popular with surfers because there is almost always wind there. On sunny summer weekends prevails there much weekend traffic and where there will be a quiet place, I can tell you not unfortunately. We prefer the lakes around Murnau, such as the Staffelsee. I'm sorry that I can give you no better answer. Greetings from sunny Murnau Barbara Schlögel

The tourists move along the road on the western shore of the lake. There are the localities Urfeld and Walchensee. At the south end there is a toll road going east to the Jachenau. Because you have to pay here, much less people are traveling. There are beautiful places for swimming, even lonelier places for camping. An official campsite there is not but.
