Wusterwitz lies on the edge of Havel and the western shore of the Wusterwitz Lake.
The emblem was designed by the herald Uwe Reipert.

Wusterwitz was founded in 1159 by Archbishop Wichmann of Magdeburg (Magdeburg vacation rentals | Magdeburg travel guide). After the development of the city did not meet expectations, the city was handed over to Schartau. Three buildings and a Romanesque stone church were built since the changeover.
