The highlight of the Alemannic Fasnacht carnival is a gathering of all the Fasnacht organisations from the whole of the vicinity for the large Rosenmontag [Shrove Monday] procession in Freiburg. Floats and colourful costumes can be seen on the streets. People hidden under wild, almost sinister masks play jokes on others until late at night.
