Today was mostly taken up driving from Belgium to the Black Forest in Germany's SW. Our goal is to spend a couple of days in this beautiful part of the country before we have go to Munich (Munich vacation rentals | Munich travel guide) as we wont have a chance to return here during the trip. The 5 hour trip went through west Germany and on the Autobahns, which we were somewhat boring. However the scenery began to change when we went on the smaller roads nearing the Schwartzwald. On the way we saw the scene of a particularly horrific accident, that had involved a truck which had plowed into a barrier. The cab of the truck was just being craned away, the driver had obviously died.

We also passed by the Nurburgring however it was not open for public use during the day as it is used as a test track. When we arrived in the Black Forest we drove through for a couple of hours before deciding on this spot, right in the middle of the forest, in a clearing next to the road. Tomorrow we hope to find Neuschwanstein, and maybe work our way to Lake Constance.
