Touring Hamburg (Hamburg vacation rentals | Hamburg travel guide) by water

Hamburg is Europe's second largest port town and Germany's second largest city with more than 1.8 million inhabitants in its metropolitan area. With water everywhere one of the best ways to view enticing silhouettes is by boat. You can either rent a canoe, kayak, paddle-boat, or even a sailboat and take the whole family out for a blue adventure. If you are more interested in relaxing and taking a guided tour, there are Alster steamers (starting point for setting sail is the underground/suburban train station, Jungfernstieg) that cruise the channels of the city several times a day.

After a day on the water and taking in the sight of the town sit port-side and enjoy one of the local beverages called an Alsterwasser. This is a refreshing blend of beer and lemonade and is as cooling as the lake breeze on a hot summer day.
