Greifenstein is a community in the Lahn-Dill-Kreis in Hesse, Germany. Its administrative seat is Beilstein (Beilstein vacation rentals | Beilstein travel guide). Greifenstein (Greifenstein vacation rentals | Greifenstein travel guide) covers 67.43 km on the eastern slope of the Westerwald range. Its name comes from the Castle Greifenstein, and the town is home to the German Bell Museum (Deutsches Glockenmuseum). The museum owns about 50 bells and interprets the development of bell pouring. Visitors to the German Bell Museum can actually listen to the sounds of those bells.

In addition to the German Bell Museum, there are lots of other historic things to discover here in Greifenstein, including Castle Greifenstein itself. For example, an old medieval jail with torture tools, catacombs, and an old double church. You can actually use the stairs to go up the big towers, from where you can get a magnificent view of Greifenstein and the surrounding area. Once you're done with your visit enjoy a traditional German knight dinner in the Castle Greifenstein restaurant (open daily between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.)
