If the Black Forest is on your list of places to explore while in Germany, make sure to add Triberg to your itinerary. Located between Karlsruhe and Lake Constance, this charming town offers an array of sites and activities that will both delight and inform you. Be sure to request an informational brochure from the Triberg tourism office before your arrival. This beautifully illustrated travel guide will help you both time your visit (around any activities that may interest you, such as the Triberg Ham Festival-yum!) and plan your stay. Besides cultural and historical highlights, including the Black Forest Museum, the Maria in der Tanne pilgrimage church, and the Black Forest Railway, the brochure provides information about outdoors activities and where to find the best local Black Forest Cake. Once you receive the travel guide, don’t close it before you reach the final pages. Here you will find the details about the Triberg guest card and the benefits / admissions it includes. For example, the pass will allow you to ride for free on the local buses and regional trains. You can also gain free admission to Germany’s tallest waterfall, various indoor and outdoor pools, several ski lifts, and the children’s play barn in nearby Unterkirnach. You will certainly enjoy your time exploring everything that Triberg offers. Oh! And do not fail to see the world’s largest and smallest cuckoo clocks at the Eble Clock Works. Once you are done here, you will surely want to keep going to see the region’s other lovely cities: Freiburg (50 km), Strasbourg (80 km), and Zuerich (127 km), among others.
