When Germany comes to mind you most likely think of stimulating cultural events, beautiful landscapes that are great for hiking and amazing food but it does also have something to offer for young people who want to have fun and party. If you just want to go crazy, go to the Love Parade in Duisburg!

The Love Parade is a popular House and Techno festival, which has its roots in the spirit of a changing Europe and for the first time in 1989 was held as a political demonstration for peace and international understanding through music. It was first celebrated four months before the demolition of the Berlin (Berlin vacation rentals | Berlin travel guide) Wall and started by the fresh Berlin Underground under the initiative of Dr. Motte, a famous Techno DJ. The festival was held in Berlin for several years until the city decided it could no longer deal with the craziness and the Love Parade moved on to the Ruhr Area. In 2010 the festival will take place in Duisburg (Duisburg vacation rentals | Duisburg travel guide).

The Love Parade in Duisburg is basically one huge dance floor with music blasting out of water—cooled sound systems on various trucks. The trucks usually feature local clubs and DJs and are crowded with Go—Go girls in spectacular costumes. Most visitors also make an effort of dressing up in colorful and imaginative clothes and live out their exhibitionist tendencies.

Love Parade in Duisburg is not for the faint of heart but if you are looking for great party, this is the place to be!
