The Spa Gardens Schwangau (Schwangau vacation rentals | Schwangau travel guide), near Füssen (Füssen vacation rentals | Füssen travel guide) in the Allgäu, Bavaria, is a place to relax and to admire the natural beauty that developed here since this park was opened some 65 years ago. Mixed forest and the meadow, home to many wild flowers, contribute to its charm and visitors enjoy strolling through this park. Beside the Royal Crystal-Thermae, at the parking lot, a tarred alley leads to one of the most beautiful viewing points of the Spa Gardens,
Hildegard von Bingen (Bingen vacation rentals | Bingen travel guide) gathered during her lifetime in the 12 century A.C. medical information and treatment methods and included Therapeutic Gemstones and Metals in her work, which is still valid and practiced today allover the world. The Royal Crystal-Thermae Schwangau integrates 15 tons of Therapeutic Gemstones and Crystals in their Thermae and Sauna scenery to set the mood for a relaxing and healing process during your stay. Really special is the visit of the Gemstone Grotto which invites you for a meditation. Huge Crystals, Amethyst-, Rose Quartz- and Agate Stones shimmer and sparkle to add to the mystic ambience and light of the Grotto.
The indoor Thermalbad, (hot springs) has integrated water nozzles and has a salt content of 5 % in the
Königsbecken. The in- and outdoor Swimming Pools of the
Ludwigsbecken are fitted with underwater massaging beds and have a salt content of 2.5 %. In the outdoor Brine Pool, which is one of its kind in Allgäu, you will feel like in the Dead Sea, floating gently while listening to underwater music. The water temperatures vary between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius and all this will stimulate your skin cells and therefore activate your blood circulation. Additionally your nerve system will be activated and you relax your muscles, joints and bones. 6 Theme Saunas await you and you can get active by joining the free of charge hydrotherapy sessions, better known as water aerobics. Many more healthy activities are on offer including baby swim courses. The Royal Crystal-Thermae has a separate outdoor Swimming Pool with a sunbathing area and a Children’s Playground for those who just want to cool of from a hot summer’s day.
What would be a day out without good food. The Royal Crystal-Thermae has 3 areas where you will be served with the best the Allgäu and Schwangau has to offer. Choose between healthy light meals, yummy specialties of the region or a 3 course set menu. During the summer months the culinary highlights will also be served on their own Panorama Terrace. In 2008 this facility was awarded the price for the best Thermae-Gastronomy in Bavaria, what better choice to round up your day.
About this Article
This travel guide has been written by Monika Petra.
In her own words: When children are born they receive certain gifts to put them to good use or not. In my cradle there must have been at least music and the curiosity for the world we live in. Luckily I could combine those gifts eventually. My live as a jazz vocalist guided me to see and experience many places in Germany and far beyond. As in my music I like to dive in the historical background of given facts, simply to understand the present. During my travel, my circles got wider and wider and since many years I am now living in Thailand, very interesting to say the least. I grew up in Paderborn, lived and studied Jazz in Cologne's
Musikhochschule and worked a while in Bayreuth and Kulmbach. My travels throughout Germany took me to all major cities and small towns. It was the people and local differences, be it language, food, traditions and customs, which made it a lot of fun. When finally the
wall came down, I was one of those in Berlin posing on the rests of it for the camera. Off course I took the first opportunity to rediscover the
new but old states of Germany and finally understood the impact the wall had on all Germans and in regards to the worst part in German history. Being a
German living abroad, I discovered in years what I value most about Germany. Rest assured it is a country of rich cultural background still alive today. I visit my home country regularly and stay in touch with my friends, even those back from school. Another thing I always felt passionate about is writing and sharing my experience and thoughts. The internet provides us all with a great opportunity to connect, tell stories, read and learn from others and grow as a global community.
