The Blue Night — or so called
The Night of Arts and Culture — is the biggest event in Nuremberg’s social calendar. More than 120,000 visitors pour into Nuremberg’s medieval city center every year to spend an unforgettable night full of magic and cultural stimulation. In 2010 The Blue Night takes place on the 15th of May starting from 7pm until the early hours of the next day.
This cultural event offers the unusual combination of musical events, lectures, theatre performances and modern arts, and everything happens at night. More than 70 museums, churches and other cultural institutions open their doors and invite people to stroll about, look, listen and be amazed. Nuremberg (Nuremberg vacation rentals | Nuremberg travel guide) is one of the few German cities, which still has a distinct medieval flair to it. The experience of walking through this old town center and seeing the beautiful buildings glowing in the blue light is truly amazing.
Every year the art presented at The Blue Night is influenced by a special theme. 2010 marks the 175th anniversary of the first railway ride from Nuremberg to its neighboring town Fürth (Fürth vacation rentals | Fürth travel guide) in 1835. Referring to this, this year’s theme is “On The Way”.
This year The Blue Night celebrates its 10th anniversary, so come and join the party!
