As you might now, the Zugspitze is the highest peak in Germany. The trip to the Zugspitze using a train of about 1.5 hours from Munich (Munich vacation rentals | Munich travel guide), to a beautiful small town in the valley of the Alps, Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Beautiful scenery alternating on either side of the train window. Landscape typical of southern Germany region which is hilly and rural houses decorated with a different architecture with rural houses in other parts of Europe.

Round trip fare for a winter day is 36 euros for adults, adolescents (16-18 years) 25.50 euros, and children (6-15 years) 20 euros per person.
If you wish to visit the highest peak in Germany, you should decide one of several options offered route. Winter rates are only valid from October until mid-May. After months of May through the next winter, summer rates, which is approximately 25% more expensive than the winter fare.
