Day 1: Munich – Nuremberg

In the morning you travel to Nuremberg. Visit Nuremberg’s historic city center and learn more about its impressive history with a tour of well-preserved castle, Gothic churches, romantic houses and peaceful squares.


Day 2: Nuremberg – Regensburg – Passau

After breakfast travel to Passau. Along the way we briefly visit Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Passau, also known as the “Venice of Bavaria”, lies at the confluence of the Danube, Eno and Ilz rivers. The town’s architecture reflects a unique style of Italian artists. The Baroque cathedral houses the largest church organ in the world. Enjoy a pleasant boat tour to the confluence of the three rivers and then take a stroll along the city’s picturesque streets.


Day 3: Passau – Berchtesgaden

From Passau we continue to the Bavarian Alps. Berchtesgaden is a typical traditional Alpine village at the foot of Mount Watzmann. The region’s attractions include the salt mines, Königssee lake and Obersalzberg with the Eagle’s Nest, once the site of Hitler’s mountain retreat. After a visit to a local salt mine, you have the option of taking a boat tour on the Königssee or visiting the infamous Eagle’s Nest (not included).


Day 4: Berchtesgaden – Füssen

In the morning we depart for Füssen. The road winds its way through scenic sub-Alpine landscape. We pause at the Chiemsee, the lake that is locally known as “The Sea of Bavaria”. Ascend by cable car to Kampenwand (1.500 m) and stop for a delicious lunch in restaurant Alm, which specializes in traditional Alpine cuisine (lunch not included). Continue past various other lovely traditional Bavarian villages, such as Bad Tölz and Oberammergau until we reach Füssen, at the foot of the Alps.


Day 5: Füssen – Neuschwanstein – Munich

In the morning we visit Neuschwanstein Castle, the most famous castle in Germany, built by Ludwig II, the notorious „mad king“. On the way to Munich we visit the Andechs Abbey. Optional tour of the abbey’s brewery (only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from June- September) . Arrival in Munich, the charming capital of Bavaria.

Munich is a vibrant city that combines modern infrastructure with Bavarian hospitality and tradition. In the morning enjoy a City Tour and visit famous attractions such as the elegant Marienplatz square, the bustling Viktualienmarkt with many local delicacies and the Hofbräuhaus, a traditional Bavarian beer brewery.
