There are many fresh markets and groceries scattered throughout the city. Germany has a very high standard of living so you will be sure to find fresh produce in any market.

Wake up and enjoy fresh pastries and coffee at a local bakery. After you are filled up and ready to go either walk or take the S-bahn to the Olympiastadion. There you will find an example of German architecture from the 1930s and an excellent guided tour providing you with a remarkable history lesson to boot. After your tour and depending on the season, either head to Alexanderplatz and go ice-skating under the TV Tower. If it's summer time head to the park and watch the ducks mingling in the pond.

Berlin is home to 153 museums. After you finish a robust German breakfast (frühstück) take a walking tour of the most famous museum area, Museum island. The ensemble on the Museum Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is situated in the northern part of the Spree Island between the Spree and the Kupfergraben. As early as 1841 it was designated a “district dedicated to art and antiquities” by a royal decree. Subsequently, the Altes Museum (Old Museum) in the Lustgarten displaying the bust of Queen Nefertiti, and the Neues Museum (New Museum), Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery), Pergamon Museum, and Bode Museum were built there. While these buildings once housed distinct collections, the names of the buildings no longer necessarily correspond to the names of the collections they house. Opposite the Museum Island there is the DDR Museum about the life in the GDR. There is also a Deutsche Guggenheim Museum on Unter den Linden which is also a great shopping area for after the visit.

Day 4: Climb Berlin!

Day 4: Climb Berlin!

You climb 456 steps and walk out on mesh flooring where you can not only see Berlin out in front of you, but below you too! A guide will be with you and explains the sights of the city and hidden secrets you may not have known. The Gasometer is an exceptional experience and one you will be sure to be talking about for years to come. After you've taken in the sweeping views, head to a coffee shop for some snacks and talk about the experience you just had.

After you've decompressed from the spa have dinner at a local restaurant and then try to catch a world famous Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Not only will you be impressed with the precision of the musicians but the building itself was a fete to build.
