Day 1: Walking and Hiking in the Area
The romantic landscape of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains is a popular destination for extended hiking routes of differing lengths and difficulties. Follow in the footsteps of Caspar David Friedrich, Ludwig Richter, Adrian Zingg and other reputable artists of the 18th century on the so-called "Malerweg", the most beautiful hiking path in Germany in 2007.
Breathtaking views and a delightful rocky landscape will fascinate you. Particularly popular hiking destinations are the Bastei and the Königstein Fort.
